We hoped our onions would get bigger, but no dice. They do have a nice mild flavor compared to the ones from the grocery store.I don’t think I’ve ever cooked with kale before, but we broke out the faded yellow Gourmet cookbook and made a white bean soup with kale & chorizo. I like how kale holds its shape better than spinach once its cooked. The leafy greens below aren’t from our garden, they are from Treat’s Farm. This time of year, they are also selling *huge* bunches of collard greens. I keep meaning to bring my camera to photograph them. Right now all of Treat’s winter squash are marked down 50%. Stock up and store the veggies in a cool, dark place. This year, my favorite is the delicata squash.
