My college friend Katey loves Fette Sau. So much, she swoons a little every time she starts talking about this Williamsburg bbq joint. After a sidewalk glimpse about a week ago, I couldn’t wait any longer. I headed right back to Metropolitan Ave the following Saturday. 20 minutes after after getting in line, fellow food blogger Amy and I settled in at a communal table near the garage door.
In anticipation of this meal, I ate only quinoa for breakfast. Right, like there’s any grain out there that can counteract a lunch like this! A hungry photographer is not a good photographer, but here are a few shots so you can get the picture. We ordered spareribs, pulled pork, brisket, half sour pickles and coleslaw.
Here’s Amy’s Sixpoint beer. Our communal tablemates informed us you can visit the brewery in Red Hook. We also noted (with deep interest) that there are whisky flights available at the bar. We’ll be checking that out on a return trip.
The pulled pork (left). Love the light fixtures over the bar (right).
This was a fine meal, but Lockhart bbq is still tops in my book. I do regret skipping the Steve’s Key Lime Pie for dessert, but we had a date with the Oyster Saloon back in Manhattan. More about that coming right up in my next post.
If you’re looking for more bbq, check out Amy’s Fette Sau photos on Flickr.

I’m always ready for more BBQ. The more the merrier.

Um…Did someone say “whiskey flights”? Why are we not going there TONIGHT!!! I’ll put out the suggestion for 1st weekend in May to head down to Brooklyn. Whaddya say? We can hit Spuytin Duyvil too, if you haven’t been yet. They are the same owners as Fette Sau, I believe.

For starters, I don’t think the guys will stay at home next time!

I swear I can SMELL those photos. I want to go back and do a whiskey flight. Who is coming with us?
