After a recent lunch at Mecha, owner Tony Pham recommended checking out Baró. This Fairfield Brick Walk spot is brand new and definitely worth a visit. You can find my dinner photos alongside Sarah Green’s ‘first impression’ on CTbites, but in addition to the tapas (get the berro salad!), I want to give a special shout out to the bar.

Our server cautioned us that the cocktails would not be sweet. Music to my ears. Baró’s cocktails are nicely balanced (not as common as you’d think around these parts) and it’s about time a restaurant with a craft cocktail program got a hold of a proper ice machine!  We sat in the dining room, but plan to return soon to get a good look behind the bar. Until then, here’s a glimpse at our first round.
