Trout Lily Farm

Somehow, somewhere… I discovered Trout Lily Farm on Facebook. I fell in love with the beautiful blooms from this North Guilford farm (about 10 minutes north of 1-95) and quickly became captivated by the owner’s floral designs… Last winter we drove out for a wreath and ended up with a beautiful two-tone magnolia leaf stunner than hung on our front door well past the holiday season. I vowed to come back and see the gardens in a different season.

Determined to see the peonies this year, I called to see if we could visit the farm on a week day. Owner/gardener/floral designer Micahel Russo is an incredibly friendly and gracious host and he led us on a personal tour of what’s in season. We arrived just in time to see various cut flowers being prepped for upcoming weddings.

Coming soon… a new building is under construction and will house workshops and demos! I can’t wait to learn more from this talented gardener and designer.

  1. Oh, but I’d hate to have my arrival result in extra clean up! Thanks for welcoming an impromtu guest, your farm is full of so much to capture. I love seeing how it changes with each visit…

  2. Thank you for this wonderful and totally candid capture of our little farm. I probably would have spruced up the place in advance if I had known you would be documenting your visit. Many thanks for being such a fan and sharing my labor of love. Look forward to another drop in, but I’ll make sure I weed first! Michael
