Grand Opening of Scratch Baking in downtown Milford
Saturday, November 13, 2010. 7 am – 2 pm
Pastry chef/owner Lesli Flick will be serving up her delicious goodies: morning pastries, cookies, pies, brownies (in case you are too lazy to whip up your own batch) scones and savories. I’ve already sampled a fair amount at the summer farmers’ market. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I love the quiche!
All you Milford Metro North commuters are about to get a new coffee stop. Scratch Baking will open at 6 am Tuesday – Friday, serving locally roasted, organic, fair trade coffee from Bean & Leaf in New London, CT. I plan to drop in on Saturday before catching a train to Grand Central and I hope you will stop by for some baked goods from a very talented chef. Lesli’s clocked in at Sono Baking Company, Chocolate Bar in NYC and almost took the job as pastry chef at Baked in Red Hook. Luckily, she’s settled here in Connecticut, so take that Brooklyn! You’ve already got so much good food, we deserve a new artisanal bakery here in the ‘burbs.

Twilight at Morningside
Thank you… for opening Scratch Baking in our hometown of Milford. It is a little dangerous having so many baked goods just a few miles away.
