Here are the random bits from my 3-day weekend.
I fell in love with lavender when we stayed in the herb room at Sooke Harbour House. We just potted up a few plants 2 weeks ago.Our neighbor’s cat spends her day hiding under our Japanese maple. When we come out the front door she will come out to say hello. She has a bit of a temper, so I prefer the tabby that hangs out under the bench by the Morningside sea wall.
More flowers blooming in the garden. The iris plant is finally spreading out a bit.
And we had a “road food” worthy weekend: The famous Steamers at the Black Duck, a cinnamon donut at Coffee An, and homemade deviled eggs and potato salad at a Memorial Day picnic. We brought some grilled kielbasa and you can see a few Danny’s hot dogs as well! I stuck to the cheeseburger with the works and some onion rings. Time to get on the treadmill! Believe me, I’m headed there right now.

Thanks Mary! Your blog (and of course your photography) are a HUGE daily inspiration to me. One day I hope to wield a camera like like the Marantz’s!

I never noticed that, but you’re right… this cat is pretty clean for skulking around in the dirt all day long.
